Writing about the kind of need and obsession that makes therapists concerned since 2020.
I'm L. Mitchell. I write morally bankrupt men who should absolutely be the problem, and somehow aren't. (The bar is low. They're hot. We move on.)
WHAT I WRITE
Dark romance where obsession isn't a red flag, it's the entire relationship. My antiheroes don't apologize. My heroines don't need saving. And the love stories? They're the kind therapy can't fix and shouldn't try.
I'm not interested in redemption arcs that come easy or love that plays it safe. I prefer devotion that borders on dangerous, possession that looks like worship, and men who would burn the world down before letting go.
MY BOOKS FEATURE
Morally gray (to black) antiheroes
Captivity romance that rewrites boundaries
Obsession disguised as love (or is it the other way around?)
The kind of need that makes you question your taste—and then lean in harder
"This genre gave me permission to explore the parts of desire and power that don't fit into neat boxes. Now I'm giving that permission to readers."
MY TRUTHS
If you need your romance soft, this isn't it. But if you want it unhinged, unholy, and unforgettable? You're in the right place.
A BIT ABOUT ME
"Obsession isn't the problem. Pretending we don't crave it is."
I'm a neurodivergent chaos gremlin, military spouse, and professional over-juiced (on apple juice). My husband tolerates my fictional men. My dog judges all of us.
When I'm not writing, I'm reading dark romance like it's my job (it kind of is), building my author empire one chaotic decision at a time, and proving that you can run multiple businesses while your AuDHD screams in the background.
